Thiago
de Mello is the literary name of Amadeu Thiago de Mello,
born
on March 30, 1926, in Barreirinha, a town located at the
right margin of the Ramos' paraná (creek), on the Amazon
River, in the middle
of the Amazonian jungle. Internationally renowed poet and writer,
he is the
author of the beautiful poem “Os Estatutos do Homem”
(The Men’s Statutes).

is an organization that gathers medical doctors volunteers
in expeditions that take specialized medicine, inclusive surgical
service,
to the indigenous populations of the brazilian Amazon. Qualified
like OSCIP
(Civil Society Organization of Public Interest), the Association
started the program “Operating in the Amazon”, in
2004.
